I am a person who observes the world. Watching people, assuming roles to adapt, to approach, to understand; I try to interact in life contexts to discernsocial groups. The unbiased mind guides us through the differences and the absurdities of our society, I try to translate this into my art. Then I approach the society using an external point of view like an unattached observer. In my research I will exclude my thinking out of the common thought.
I want to explore the idea of caricatural memory. For that i start with the minute dialogues with the people you meet in your daily context as in: the street, the subway or the bar...
We use to have an preconception of this random peoples. Following this popular belief I'm creating an image, an interpretation of the life of these personnalites. A quick summary of they existence based on concepts that are supposed to create them identity: they job, they problems, they physique ... These preconception are an hasty caricature often completely wrong that gives rise personal illusions or massive imaginary, based on appearances can forever remain.
I'm an observer of appearance of the society.
In my work I try to visualize this caricatural reflection of the men of our time. I am intregued by how apperence is one of the new foundations of our existence. Where is the sincerity?
I want to emphasize this dimension of artificial apperence in our modern world. a part of our conscencious is veiled in an effort to conform to social aesthetic ideals. Losing your identity, is becoming an common practice.
The world tends to exploit this notion to appearence more frequently and lost interest in the value of the personnality and their professionalism .
My first project The Pierre Brunet(s) is a fictional research, drawn from real events, which questions the identity created by the first and last name. This question is to examine the similarity generated within the namesake. The individual can quickly get lost in searching for his identity. The problem is more an
existential question that everyone is asking, which affects me as much as anyone.
Who am I? Who are they? How will I differentiate among them? Winning my personality.
This work is personal to me because it's deals about me first, but I represent any individual while evolving, constantly finds himself face to face with others similars , as strong or stronger than me. I must be constantly renewal in order to survive as such. What is similar is not necessarily identical and if the renewal does not exist, the individual is stagnating.
